Product Details of Harman Kardon Creature Desktop Speaker System
Description
The Creature is the latest innovation from JBL, a long time leader in the manufacture of high-end component and computer audio systems. JBLs audio heritage combined with continual research has provided the unique technologies included in the Creature. The Harman Multimedia Odyssey Plus transducer is a unique full range transducer designed specifically for extremely small speaker enclosures while providing significant mid bass. In addition to the bass, the small, rigid and light inverted aluminum cone provides performance that will rival any tweeter used in multimedia speakers today. The result is a small and elegant satellite speaker that perfectly integrates with the subwoofer while providing superior midrange and highs. The Magnum series subwoofer transducer provides deep bass. This Magnum series of subwoofers are designed specifically to match with the Harman Multimedia Odyssey Plus transducers. The same approach of providing solid bass from a small enclosure guided the development of these Magnum transducers.

Summary
Product Title: Harman Kardon Creature Desktop Speaker System
Strengths: Small size, good separation, controls are very nice, powerful
Weakness: tinny sound
I purchased these to replace a set of 5 year old Cambridge Soundworks multimedia speakers and was very dissapointed. The JBL's lacked the warmth of the Soundworks system. The sound is very plastic and fragile. This is due to the ultra-small size of the satellites which have a hard time reproducing midrage frequencies. As a musician who listens to both classical as well as pop music, and who does...
Strengths: Great sound for such a small set of speakers! I can't believe something that looks this cool sounds this good. Set up was very easy (colored plugs & jacks).
Weakness: None
Great sound for such a small set of speakers! I can't believe something that looks this cool sounds this good. Set up was very easy (colored plugs & jacks). At first I was somewhat taken by the price, but on the suggestion of a friend I bought these speakers. Points I like: 1. Sound Quality is unreal. I play games, listen to music, and watch video on my PC. All of these applications sound great...
Strengths: Great size they are a little bigger than a golf ball. They sound as good as my book shelf speakers and 100% better than the old PC spks. Very nice touch sensitive volume buttons on the right speaker!
Weakness: Shipping can be high because of weight. But still got mine for under $90 w/shipping at zipzoomfly.
I spent weeks looking for good speakers and I am very happy with these. I have owned JBL products in the past and they have lasted so I hope this product will too.
Very fancy stuff, I like the designing style. Alos a powerful subwoofer, it comes with a touch feeling volume control satellite, and the price a reasonable.
