Excellent Lexmark Printer

Strengths: Great price Prints great pictures Easy to setup

Weakness: Very heavy -- 67 lbs Makes a lot of noise

Overall this is a great printer. I bought this based on reviews on Pricegrabber, and I was glad that I did. The color prints that it makes, even on "normal" print settings, is great. My wife was amazed pictures could look that good on regular pieces of paper. Draft setting is fine for every day use, and doesn't use as much toner. I haven't even ventured to see how much toner cartridges will cost,...

Great value for the price!

Strengths: Price (I got it for a little less than $200), Network ready, prints both black and white and color.

Weakness: It's a little bit heavy (67 lbs, I think) and a little bit noisy, but not too bad.

This is a great printer, and I'm very satisfied with it's overall performance. The best features are the price and the fact that it comes network ready. This printer is a great value since most other color laser printers were several hundred dollars more. Network printing is also a great advantage because now I can print from my desktop computer or my laptop without having to bother with USB...

Overall, a Great Color Laser Printer!

Strengths: Good quality printing, fast printing (once warmed up), many customizable features, fantastic customer service/tech support.

Weakness: Difficulty with thick card stock, noisy when running.

I poured through many other reviews of this printer prior to buying it, and based on my expectations (I was already aware that it is large, heavy, and noisy!) it is performing quite well. I was not concerned about the size or weight (how often do you really need to move a printer?) and figured the noise could be tolerated for a great deal (under $350) on a color laser printer. It is noisy when it...

Lexmark c510n - Wonderful Accurate Color for under...

Strengths: Postscript 3 !! Networking !! Mac compatible out of the box !! 500Mhz Processor !! Great color, excellent gradients; photos, graphics and text all turn out well.

Weakness: Yes, its a bit noisy (making multiple clunks when starting up and printing), but given build quality, output quality and price!! - its totally acceptable. Toner is a bit pricey.

Under $400 !! You can control all the printers settings and check toner levels (to within .5%) from any browser (including Safari on Mac). The manuals show you how to tweak/create your own ICC color profiles that are quite accurate, especially if you work in a Postscript environment (InDesign, Illustrator, Freehand, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, etc.) Handles all paper types right up to thick card...

Excellent color laser printer (so far...)

Strengths: Works well with my Macintosh so far, realtively quiet in powersave mode

Weakness: Heavy, noisy when printing

Always wanted a color laser, the price is right! I had reqad positive reviews of this printer from other mac sites when the product was initially released but the price was quite expensive for me...recently found it cheaper @ techonweb.com

Lexmark C510n Color Laser Printer

Strengths: The print quality is very good. The warm-up time is relatively short, compared with other color laser printers in the same price range. The printer was made in Japan, which is hard to find these days.

Weakness: The printer is heavy. However, the design of the toner cartridges is slim and they are easy to handle. The printer is noisy, especially during warm-up.

The printer is shipped with 128MB memory installed. The design of the printer and the quality of the output are extremely good compared with another brand I have tried. The various components and features are easily accessible. Even the design of the shipping box is "user-friendly" and faciliated removal of the heavy printer from the box. This is the first time I have bought any Lexmark product...

Great Color and speed, but slow first copy speed and...

Strengths: Color quality, first page speed, easily managable from a browser for network print management. Low power mode enables it to be left on at all times.

Weakness: Noisy, sounds like there is something inside tryin to get out when printing. Toner is expensive!!! No multipurpose tray for envelope printing.

All in all this was a great deal. A network ready color laser printer for around $450 after rebates. The browser interface to configure networks settings is cluttered and confusing, but not a significant issue since you won't be in it everyday. Printing envelopes requires that you either purchase a 2nd tray ($150) or remove all the paper from the tray, adjust the tabs in the tray, load with...

Lexmark C510N Laser Printer

Strengths: Good print quality. Sturdy construction. pc/mac drivers. The price is nice.

Weakness: NO MULTIFUNCTION TRAY! Anytime you want to print an envelope or any other one-off you got to open the paper tray and possibly remove old stack and insert new stock! This is a big pain.

Overall not unpleased with this color laser printer, but the weakness with the missing multifunction tray turned out to be a bigger issue than thought. then again, cant beat the current street price of less than $400 with all the features it does have. note that toner cartridges are only partialy filled and yield no more than 1500 pages.

Lexmark C510n Color Laser Printer (2400x2400 DPI)...

Strengths: Excellent quality of print and easy set up instructions. Has 128MB Memory and is made in Japan

Weakness: Very heavy at 67 pounds. It has large footprint and bulky to lift. It is very noisy when warming up and printing. Need to purchase an expensive option for duplex printing.

The Lexmark C510n is an excellent value. It has a 500 MHz processor and prints 30 ppm black/white and 8 ppm color. It comes standard with a 128 MB SDRAM which is more memory than other color printers in its price range. It prints both standard and legal size media. It also prints envelopes, transparencies, labels, plain and glossy paper and cards. Options include: additional drawer which holds an...

Most Bang for the Buck...

Strengths: Price for performance, Print Quality, Cost/page, Sturdy Design, and hopefully reliability, Available Options although pricey

Weakness: Lack of Legal size printing without purchasing an opt. tray, Lack of a Multi-Purpose Tray, Four-Pass vs. c522's Single-Pass, Less then Half filled starter toner carts, Lower max Memory then the c522

Would have liked to have see a review comparing the print quality of the c510 to the newer c522, which is 1200dpi vs. the c510 600dpi. It is also a single-pass machine vs. the c510 four-pass design. My c510n was made in Thailand, February 2006... Not Japan

C510n

Over the past year, prices have dropped to the point where it's now feasible to consider color laser printing for homes and small offices. We looked at six color laser printers priced at around $1,000: Brother's HL-2700CN, Hewlett-Packard's Color LaserJet 3500n, Konica Minolta's magicolor 2350en, Lexmark's C510n, Oki Data's C5300N, and Xerox's Phaser 8400/B.
