Great Printer, Great Features, Great Price

Strengths: Very Fast, Duplex feature is fast and reliable, Great price for an automatic duplex printer. Printer has a solid feel.

Weakness: Whirring sound is a bit noisy when it starts printing, but that doesn't last long. No louder than other comparable laser printers.

Reasonably priced toner. Drum rated for 20,000 pages which works out to over 3.5 years if I print 16 pages every day. For home use that's not that big of a deal. The toner/drum for my old Epson ActionLaser 1500 lasted about 5500 pages and cost over $160. I purchased this printer for just a bit over the cost of the toner for the Epson. Brother HL-5150D Laser Printer

Strengths: The unit is easy to get up and running. Installation is really easy. The duplexer is a real nice feature.

Weakness: In the save toner mode, the darkness of the print is fairly light. This is acceptable for most use. For commercial applications one can turn on high quality print mode.

I find the features and speed to be much better than HP, and appears to of higher quality, mechanical wise. What is different is that in the standby mode, the indicator light (status) is powered off, making one assume the unit is not turned on. Using on the duplexer mode is easy.

Strengths: Speed, duplex printing, easy setup, good value for the price.

Weakness: None found yet.

The printer was very easy to setup. The CD that came with it to install the driver and software had an instructional video for setting up the printer. The duplex printing is superb; it's fast and great quality. Single-side printing is also super fast. Installation of additional memory is also very easy. Brother HL-5150D Laser Printer

Strengths: Very fast. Prints on both sides of a piece of paper (duplexes). Printer is quiet when not printing, and silent in power save mode.

Weakness: The printer is loud when printing. The case seems flimsy. A drum must be purchased every 20,000 pages.

I would have preferred to get a Hewlett Packard laser printer, but the cheapest HP printer that duplexes costs $650. Given that, I purchased the Brother HL-5150D and have been happy with it so far. Brother HL-5150D Laser Printer

Strengths: Inexpensive printer that works with a variety of systems new and old; PPM speed is good along with duplexing capabilities. Expandable memory allows processing very complex postscipt documents.

Weakness: A bit noisy, however, many new laser printers are noisier go figure. No real complaints

Inexpensive, capable printer. Compatible with many different PC systems. Good paper handling and output quality. Ideal for small office or home office setting. Automatic duplexing feature is a paper saver.

Strengths: speed, low cost, good paper handling

Weakness: potenital consumables costs (drum)

Great printer, very satisfied. I’ve only been using it for a day. This printer is fast- about 10 sec until first page, then about 20 pages in a minute. Solid performance after 3+ years

Strengths: Very Fast, Duplex & Toner Save features, 3600 pages starter toner. Reasonable price. Good construction.

Weakness: So far, so good. Never had problems with my previous Brother HL1240 during 4 years. Hope this will be just as good or better.

Other pluses: Good printer for day-to-day office documents. Works well with inexpensive Linksys USB printer server PSUS4 (cheaper than Brother's printserver). Consumables are reasonably priced (by comparing with others like Samsung's ML1710 and ML1750 which are cheap printers, but they'll get you with the consumables). Strengths: print quality, features

Weakness: speed (to some extent)

This is a very good printer. The print quality is very good, especially for text but for images as well. The duplex capabilities also work very well - I am definitely satisfied with the printer. It also works very well with Linux, mostly because it supports Postscript printing. Strengths: Fast printing, reasonable price, text- excellent

We were having trouble with network samsung printer. Decided to buy nonnetwork printer, and decision has been a good one and lifesaver. Brother HL-5150D Laser Printer

Strengths: -Great price for an auto duplex printer -Upgradeable -Nice size -Fast!

Weakness: none yet

Received this printer and promptly printed over 200 envelopes using the manual feed tray. The crisp sharp text is exactly what I was looking for. I've had good luck with Brother products in the past and this printer looks to keep that trend going.
